The update to Surrogate Socket version 1.2.8 requires a new sswebup.exe file. Download sswebup.exe and save it in your Surrogate Socket directory. Then, follow the normal update instructions:

• Run the Surrogate Socket Service Control program
• Click on the Register tab
• Click on the Update button

When the Updater program screen appears, it should say Upgrader Version 1.2c below the Surrogate Socket logo as
shown below:

New:

• Support for unicast UDP redirection. Surrogate Socket may now be used for UDP redirection. The UDP implementation does not support multicast or broadcast traffic.
• Support has been added to the Surrogate Socket Service Control program to allow configuration of the Activity Logging Add-in.
• Surrogate Socket now keeps the last five logs as surrogatesocket.1, surrogatesocket.2, etc.
• If you do not intend to use the Schedule features, you can add the registry value shown below to gain a marginal performance improvement in initial connection speed.

Fixed:

• Surrogate Socket now correctly logs port numbers greater than 32767.
• When installed on certain International versions of Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Surrogate Socket would occasionally reject connections as being outside allowable hours regardless of the Schedule setting.
• The logging options have been changed, replacing 0-No Logging with 0-Errors Only. 0-No Logging has always really meant "Errors Only". Now the option wording accurately reflects what is happening.
